This recipe is almost identical to my Skillet Cabbage except with the addition of caraway seed, red pepper flakes and of course Kielbasa.
As with my Skillet Cabbage – I will be using a bag of coleslaw. What can I say, it’s my version of “fast food.” In the recipe, they suggest the addition of potatoes, but for obvious reasons that won’t be happening. Perhaps turnip? Or radishes if I ever get brave enough.
Ingredients
2 slices bacon (the original recipe called for [...]
No more insanity trying to peel eggs! This method WORKS! I’ll never cook eggs the old way again. This method works on FRESH EGGS, not just old ones. No more waiting for them to age first.
1. Bring your eggs to room temperature. Don’t worry, it’s safe, people have been leaving eggs out for ages. They are perfectly contained little protein pearls, so just leave them on the counter overnight.
2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Yes, a hard [...]
3 slices bacon, chopped
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 bag coleslaw mix
1 pinch white sugar
salt and pepper to taste
splash tablespoon vinegar
1 tsp butter
Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and excess grease, and set aside. Sautee onion until tender, add in coleslaw mix and all remaining ingredients except vinegar. Utilize bacon grease if more is needed.
Fry until cabbage is tender-crisp, add bacon. Remove from heat, splash with vinegar.
seasoned, cooked ground beef (I used onion and garlic powder and seasoning salt)
1 slice deluxe American cheese, broken up
1 teaspoon minced onions
1 small dill pickle, chopped
2 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
Salad mix
Brown the ground beef, seasoning it as you cook; drain off the fat if desired. Meanwhile, soak the dry onions in a little water to rehydrate them. Add the cheese and cook until it melts. Put the meat in a large salad bowl and add the remaining ingredients. Toss and [...]
Below is the original recipe, but I made some changes based on our personal tastes, and the fact that we prefer a little lower fat since we are not moderate carbers. (<50 most days). So my changes – Only about 4 ounces 2% cheddar, 4 ounces 1/3 less fat cream cheese, minced onion and I used 2 heads of cauliflower. Was muy yummy. Added to the ‘favorite’ list. It looks nasty, but my husband went back for thirds. Good [...]
My aunt gave this ‘recipe’ to me. It’s just darn good.
In a good seasonings carafe, dump in “Good Seasonings” italian dressing mix, fill oil halfway up to the oil line, add about 3-4 Tbsp water, 1 Tbsp dijon dressing and fill the rest with Balsamic vinegar. Shake. Enjoy!
I use this dressing for everything, but it’s especially good over greek salad.
